 POSITION:     Director of School Transportation
 
Experienced school transportation professional needed to oversee the safe and efficient daily transportation of 30,000+ students to over 125 educational institutions. Will plan, administer and supervise a pupil transportation system including transportation for after school programs, athletic trips, field trips and summer programs, and transportation of handicapped students.

Candidate must have thorough knowledge of pupil transportation operations, including routing and scheduling. The ability to interact effectively within a culturally diverse community is needed as well as experience developing and working within a budget.

Minimum qualifications: High school or equivalency diploma plus 6 years of administrative experience in transportation or traffic, one year of which must have involved passenger movement. Education beyond high school within a field of administration may be substituted for the experience on a year-for-year basis for up to 5 years.

Katonah-Lewisboro School District
 
POSITION:     Assistant Supervisor of Transportation

 
Annual Salary Range:  $70,000 - $85,000       
Start Date:   End October 2018

Responsibilities:
Assists in: Determination of students’ eligibility to ride on school bus; preparation of bus routes/time schedules; preparation of transportation reports and analysis of monthly operating costs.  Liaison to parents, staff and bus companies.

 Qualifications:
    - Possession of the CDL class B with passenger and school bus endorsements and 30 hour Basic course. 
    - Proficiency in Transfinder software; Knowledge of nVision and Timepiece a plus
    - 19A and SBDI certification a plus

CIVIL SERVICE:  Non-competitive

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from High School or equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:
     (A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New Yrk State registered college or university with an Associate’s degree in Automotive Mechanics or closely related field, plus three (3) years of paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as an automotive mechanic or heavy equipment mechanic under the supervision of a journeyman level mechanic; OR
     (B) Five (5) years paid full-time equivalent experience as an independent automotive mechanic or heavy equipment mechanic; OR 
     (C) Four (4) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as an automotive mechanic or heavy equipment mechanic under the supervision of a journeyman level mechanic; OR 
     (D) An equivalent combination or training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), and (C).
 
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:   Head Automotive Mechanic must possess a valid New York State Class B Operator’s license with “P” and “S” endorsements by the end of the probationary period.   Candidates will be required to pass a physical examination to meet NY State Department of Motor Vehicles law.

PREFERRED CREDENTIALS:  Good knowledge of the techniques and equipment involved in the efficient installation, maintenance and repair of motor vehicle equipment, basic inventory and record keeping procedures, shop safety and accident prevention techniques; skill in electrical and mechanical automotive equipment repair; mechanical aptitude; ability to establish good working relationships with others; ability to supervise the work of others; ability to lead, train and instruct subordinates in the technical maintenance activities; technologically proficient; ability to keep accurate records; reliability; initiative; assertiveness; good judgment; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.  
APPOINTMENT / WORK YEAR: Full time (8 hours/day) / 12 months SALARY: Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications, $22.60 to $25.00 per hour.

The Mahopac Central School District is seeking a highly motivated, well-organized, and experienced Supervisor of Transportation to oversee all aspects of the Transportation Department.  Responsibilities will include the efficient management of school bus operations and vehicle maintenance.

Candidates should have good motor and hand/eye coordination and be in good physical condition and must be able to pass respirator fit test and maintain certification yearly.

Applicants must meet the following requirements a) Two years full-time experience in student transportation planning, budgeting, routing, scheduling, and arranging contracted services, or office management; or b) three years of experience in one or more components of large scale transportation systems, two of which must have been in a supervisory position. Also, applicants must be eligible for the appropriate level of NYS Driver License; be at least 21 years of age and satisfy the requirements for School Bus Driver under NYS Department of Education Regulations.

Position Title:      19A Training Development Specialist

Summary The Training Development Specialist position manages PTSI product development within several programs, which includes NYS mandated courses and refreshers. In addition, this position is assigned materials development and instructor roles as needed to fulfill PTSI and / or client needs and contract obligations. This employee will manage the PTSI 19A Program and develop all related materials. Education Requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates Degree in any related field is a plus.

Experience:
• 5 years’ experience in school transportation
• Instructional experience - 3 years minimally
• NYDMV Certified 19A Examiner – 5 years minimally
• NYSED Certified SBDI – 5+ years minimally
This position involves traveling 7+ times per year. 

Salary Range: $50,000 - $70,000 DOE
